Amman, Feb. 27 (Petra)-- The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission is overseeing the creation of three new strategic occupational standards, which the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) has announced. This program is a component of the European Regional Development and Protection Program for Jordan and Lebanon's (RDPP III) "Sustainable Self-Reliance for Vulnerable Syrian Refugees and Jordanian Host Communities Across Jordan" project.

The criteria were created after a thorough evaluation of the demands of the regional labor market and a study of global best practices. According to the Jordanian National Qualifications Framework, all three are categorized at Level 5, guaranteeing their acceptance and conformity to the demands of the Kingdom's essential industries.

Developed in collaboration with The College of Advanced Vocational Training in Jordan (CAVT) through the HTUPlus project, which was supported by the German Development Bank and the Crown Prince Foundation, the new standards include those for Modern Plumbing Technicians and Renewable Energy Systems Technicians. In these vital domains, these standards seek to qualify specialist technical workers who can operate in accordance with the most recent industry standards.

The foundation also created the Certified Disaster Management Specialist standard in collaboration with the Prince Al-Hussein Bin Abdullah II Academy of Civil Protection. In keeping with public safety priorities and national resilience goals, this standard is intended to equip trained professionals with the skills necessary to manage risks and emergencies, bolster institutional readiness, and guarantee effective crisis response.

This program aims to improve the skills of the country's labor population and expand job openings in critical industries, especially risk management, infrastructure, and renewable energy. It encourages independence, helps create sustainable livelihoods, and supports the Kingdom's aims for social and economic development.

In order to meet national sustainable development goals, enhance competent national capacities, and match training outputs with labor market demands, JRF stressed that the creation of these occupational standards is a component of its ongoing efforts.
